Last DC Custom Slots…

Good morning everyone,

It is with a heavy heart that I write this to you this morning.

Dream Carriers will be closing the end of 2009. It is time for me to go a different direction in my life. Please let me know if you or anyone you know has any serious interest in purchasing Dream Carriers.

I will be offering 6 final custom slots. And that will be it for customs. I do not plan on offering any other slots before closing. However, I might sew a couple in stocks before the holidays. We’ll see how things go.

Please note, my strap fabric is limited, I am nearly out of organic avocado, plum & brown. And will be removing them as choices from my website. I do have other strap fabric available and will have photos of it posted shortly to the Yahoo photos.

I just wanted to thank everyone for their support over the years. I will truly miss working with everyone of you. This really has been the best job i’ve ever had. It is going to be very hard to let it go.

Waist tester update

I am going to be doing longer padding in the 3pc waists and just posted a poll that i’m hoping will help with the sizing.
If I can’t get the sizing down this time around, i’ll just stick with one size and there will not be a small or large size.

Here are the ‘new’ measurements-

Small- recommended for size 8 & under- 28-50in
please note, 28in is as small as it goes(including the 2in buckle). This would be your hip measurement.

Medium- recommended for sizes 10-14- 32-54in

Large- recommended for sizes 14 & up- 36in – 58in

I will be doing two more testers of each size.

I will be posting the semi custom testers on my cart sometime this morning.

Since I am really trying to get this figured out and want to get these out asap, I am not accepting any custom fabric.

You will get to choose the body style, but I will be picking out print strap combos.

These testers will receive a $10 discount when you purchase the slot, if you enter code- waist10
You will also get a $20 discount code toward a future order once I receive your feedback.

More 3pc waist testers needed!

Hi everyone,
I have gotten some feedback and i’m going to be tweaking the waist band
a bit. I’m still planning on doing 3 sizes, but the measurements will
be a bit bigger.

Here are the new 3pc waist measurements-

Small- 24in – 48in
Medium- 29in – 52in
Large- 34in – 57in

I will be sewing all outstanding testers with the new measurements.

I have opened the custom database to the group. If you have a custom
slot and want to test the waist, please put “waist tester” in the tester
info category. Please also include the size you would like.
The 3pc waist does Not include a pocket. The pocket is going to be an
add on, and if you want to test the pocket it is $5.

I am not looking for any Neo testers right now. Just people to test the
new waist.

I will leave the custom database open for the group indefinitely. I
might start having you put your order right in the database, since that
will save me so much time!
If you have purchase a custom recently and don’t see your name in the
correct database, please feel free to add it, along with your custom
order info.

I’m just about to head downstairs to start sewing for the day, but
wanted to let you all know i’m still waiting on my strap fabric. So if
you have black or brown straps on your carrier, it is in the waiting
pile.
I will continue working on all other carriers with different strap
fabric. So if i’m going out of order, this is why. I’ve also started
doing some batch sewing, so that puts them out of order as well.

will list tester slots later tonight.

Final tester design

Here is the final design for the fabric chest strap-

I’m hoping I won’t have to change anything, but i’ll have to wait for feedback.

I plan on offering this option at checkout, as well as offering the webbing chest buckle, which is removable.  This one is not removable, but you also won’t lose this one.

A fabric chest strap! 

This fabric chest strap will be attached to the shoulder straps, but will be able to slide up and down the strap.

Custom Database Update

Good morning all!
I just wanted to let everyone know I updated the custom order database this morning.
There are estimated dates of completion on all of them now, unless i’m still waiting to hear from you.  Click here to see!
Please keep in mind these are estimates(give or take a day or two). But this will give you a general idea of when your carrier will be done.

I realize it isn’t the 30th yet, but I am removing the last couple semi customs from my cart.
I don’t have time for them.
I will be reopening August 3rd and will stock custom slots at that time and hopefully some in stocks.

Hoodie testers & Customs update!

Hi All,
I am looking for people who have customs in the works already to test the new hoodie option.
So if you have a custom slot already please email me at dreamcarriers@gmail.com to let me know if you would like to test the hoodie design.  If you want to see one, you can see one of the testers here .
ALSO, I do have some white & blue solarveil, so if you would rather do a solarveil hood or hoodie, you can do that.  There is an extra charge of $5 for a solarveil hood & hoodie.

I have been updating the custom database, so if you are wondering how things are moving along, you can look here to see the estimated date of completion of your carrier.

I have been sewing more than normal, so if it takes a little longer to hear back from me with emails, that is why.

I have a few semi customs left.
That is all I will be stocking before the end of this month.  I will not be stocking any custom slots until I reopen in August.

Semi Customs & last custom slot stocking until August!

Hi All,
I decided to list 3 full customs on Monday and I am actually skipping the 29th stocking. I want to have a week of no sewing in July for my vacation and if I stock on the 29th i’ll still be sewing through the end of July.
So this will be the last of the custom slots until I reopen in August. I also stocked some semi customs recently.
I’ve had questions from some regarding the semi custom slots.
The semi customs are just what it says. The reason it isn’t a full custom is because I pick the print and strap fabric. If I specify it has to be a certain style, such as an original full buckle, it is because the fabric is cut for an original full buckle. In some cases I might not have enough of a strap fabric for a half buckle or mei tai.
So please do not purchase the slot without reading the listing fully!
If you want a full custom, please wait for the custom slots on Monday.
